Cascades Indoor Water Park

img_case_study_cascadewaterpark_thumb.jpgPowder coating was an essential element to the successful completion of Cascades Indoor Water Park.

The indoor water park is the centerpiece of a new lodge at Greek Peak ski area in Virgil, N.Y. We had one construction season to add hot dip galvanizing and powder coating to the exterior and much of the steel support work for this 41,000-square-foot water park.

We galvanized and powder coated 136 tons of steel at our climate-controlled facility and delivered it ready to assemble. That saved valuable time on the project, because 2009 was a rainy summer in that part of New York. Our clients couldn't string together enough dry, sunny days suitable for exterior painting.

The result is a building that can withstand the corrosive nature of 150,000 gallons of chlorinated water at a constant 82 degrees Farenheit.
